Our BsaB 100% Cotton Wicks vs. Others
The wick of a candle is just as important as the type of candle wax. When you burn a chemically processed or metallically reinforced wick, it can release large amounts of soot into the air you breathe, possibly causing harmful health side effects. Unlike most wicks on the market, BsaB Candle Wicks are 100% cotton, 100% lead-free, and 100% bleach and chemical free.
Most candle wicks are reinforced with lead and other metals and many are also made with synthetic materials which may even contain petroleum based ingredients. These wicks are then bleached to make them appear white. These impure materials and chemicals may be released into the air when you burn the candle.
The amount of soot a candle produces is also directly correlated to the quality of the wick. Poor quality cheap wicks and chemically processed wicks usually produce much higher amounts of soot than do 100% pure cotton wicks. BsaB Pure Cotton Wicks are cleaner and healthier, we simply will not compromise.
We searched for nearly two months before finding a manufacturer in Germany who would provide us with high quality, natural, chemical free, European-grown cotton wicks. These wicks are interwoven with cotton paper filaments for stabilization making our wicks as unique as our candles.
